Edgewalker Doll
Dear friend,
I met this spirit in dreams and on long walks through the woods. She came to me, again and again, whispering of liminal spaces and of communicating with the Ancestors. She spoke of the gifts we find when we journey in the dark - and of the inner compass that will always guide us home. In these moments of connection, I realized how much I embody this energy - and how it longs to flow through me as I step more fully into my gifts. I began to recognize how much I’ve hidden from others - and from myself. So often, the parts of us that we’ve been told are “too much” are the very same parts of us that give rise to our magic. After decades of hiding from mine, I’m ready to create a life that allows my magic and medicine (in the form of deep spiritual connection with death energy, the Ancestors, and the Unseen realms) to come forward. Thank you for witnessing me on this journey.
A doll to guide you through liminal times and across thresholds.
The Edgewalker is a messenger and guide who walks with both the Seen and the Unseen realms. She is a hedge witch who lives in a small cabin at the forest’s edge. She roams the liminal places, where the boundary between the worlds is thin; you might find her on the banks of a river, conversing with the spirits of place and those who reside beyond the veil. She is a guardian of thresholds and offers support in times of transition.
She is connected to Hekate, the Keeper of the Keys, Goddess of the crossroads, and Guardian of the gateway between the worlds - and Mercury (Hermes), messenger and psychopomp.
She wears a dress of Corriedale wool and carries a witch’s ladder and key in her pocket. Woven from hand-spun nettle thread, each knot of her witch’s ladder is a spell and a prayer - for protection, clear communication, and strong boundaries.
Her heart holds a salmon bone, to honor the spirit of the salmon. Salmon are liminal beings who cross the boundary from fresh water to salt water and back again as they live out their life cycle. After years of journeying across distances upward of a thousand miles, the salmon return to the streams of their birth. The Edgewalker connects deeply with this energy as she travels between the realms of the living and the dead, the Seen and the Unseen, and follows her inner compass to return home.
In addition, she carries yarrow (gathered on Lingít Aaní, between beach and forest edge), motherwort & hawthorn berries. I chose these medicines for strengthening ancestral and spirit connection, protection, healing, nervous system support in times of transition, clear sight, navigating the Unseen realms, and illuminating the path home at the end of the journey.
