Grief Heart Protection Talismans
These grief heart protection talismans remind us that our grief is sacred. They remind us that the depth of our grief is a mirror of the depth of our love.
I’ve begun to play with color and asymmetry in my work - dancing with whatever calls to me, worrying less and less about how those colors and shapes may appeal (or not) to others. It’s bringing a deeper sense of freedom to my hands, like playing with the wind.
I love how these two talismans - which came through the same call to create talismans for grieving - have such different energies. One feels very watery, the other fiery.
The blue/purple talisman feels like allowing our grief to carry us, surrendering to it, riding the waves as we might allow ourselves to be carried on the ocean. Vast and deep.
The burnt orange/burgundy eye feels like fierce love, grief that rises up and stands tall. This is grief that dances with the flames, burning away that which no longer serves. This talisman also has a bell - a tear that calls out, calling in what is needed and releasing all else.
